Blacklock said in Houston on the weekend, he had been suffering from constraints on his time for some considerable months, and “after careful consideration I have decided that in the best interests of myself and the hockey league, to resign my position as president, effective immediately. I would like to wish the CIHL the bst of luck in the future.” League vice-president, Allan Hewitson, of the Kitim,at Ice Demons, has stated he will hold the position on a temporary basis, but is looking for a new volunteer to take on the role. Having just recently moved, and with a busier that expected retiree schedule, on top of last year’s extra Coy Cup workload, I hope to see somebody younger and more active in that role. It’s an important position for the league and deserves someone better able to commit to the needs entailed.” Anyone interested should contact Hewitson at ahewitson@telus.net or at 250-632-4496 in Kitimat.
